We are Eric and Joy Miller, and we love what we do. As many of you know, having a farm is not just about feeding and watering animals. It's a lifestyle! We started ours with hair sheep over 20 years ago, and over time it has grown into what it is today with many new additions. We get the whole family involved, and it's not uncommon to see all 5 kids getting their hands dirty! Whether it's the birthing process, bottle-feeding, nursing animals back to health, or learning to build fences, they want to be a part of it all and we wouldn't have it any other way.
When a ewe consistently delivers twins, she becomes the star of the flock. While young ewes usually start with one lamb, sometimes our moms surprise us by giving birth to triplets! With numerous ewes under our care, and extra support to encourage the birth of multiples, our lamb team is flourishing with an outstanding growth rate. See how we do it!
Part of the success of managing our homestead well is choosing smaller breeds that don't tie up a lot of acreage. We get to let our little pigs, dwarf goats and mini donkeys roam free without worrying they won't have enough space to do so. There are plenty of other reasons to love these guys, and we'd be happy to share them with you!
